# ¿Qué es el número CLABE y dónde lo encuentro?

## Información sobre la Clave Bancaria Estandarizada de México

Para poder realizar transferencias a México necesitarás contar con el número CLABE de tu destinatario. Este corresponde a un número identificatorio único e irrepetible asignado a cada cuenta bancaria de ese país, el cual es requisito para poder transferir dinero de un banco a otro.

El número CLABE tiene 18 dígitos y su estructura es la siguiente:

- Sus primeros 3 dígitos identifican el código del banco donde está la cuenta.
- Los dígitos del 4 al 6 corresponden al código de plaza, es decir a la ciudad o región en donde se encuentra la cuenta.
- Los dígitos del 7 al 17 corresponden al número de cuenta del destinatario.
- El último dígito de la clave, en la posición 18, corresponde al dígito verificador.

Si tu destinatario aún no conoce su número CLABE puede encontrarlo en su estado de cuenta o contactar a su banco para obtenerlo.
